Understanding What Trenchless Pipe Replacement is
If you live in an older home that also has older plumbing installations, it’s likely that you must have had to deal with different type of property maintenance issues including ones related to plumbing. Since most plumbing installations are out of sight, they are also out of mind and you realise these systems exist only when something actually goes wrong with them. And that’s when you realise that you are going to need the services of a licensed plumber in Sydney
When customers call us at SPS Plumbers for any kind of plumbing jobs, we are very particular about providing them value for money. This means if something can be repaired satisfactorily, we won’t suggest that it should be replaced. Sewer line issues are quite common on older properties and when any problems arise in these installations, the repairs can be prohibitively expensive; especially if we find that there is some damage to the sewer line and it has to be replaced. Even in a situation such as this, we always look for more cost-effective options and trenchless sewer line replacement is one of them.
What is trenchless sewer repair?
Conventional methods of sewer line repairs can be very disruptive and time-consuming; it involves digging up the landscape at the point where the repairs have to be carried out. This is why we recommend that our clients opt for trenchless sewer repairs. In this method, we don’t really dig up the sewer pipe right from the surface down. Instead, we work on it in such a manner that it doesn’t disturb the existing hardscape or softscaping.
When it comes to trenchless sewer replacement, there are 2 different types of methods that can be followed – Pipe lining & Pipe Bursting. Both these methods work well and can save you a considerable amount of trouble and money, when it comes to getting the problem rectified:
- Pipe lining– In this method, the existing pipe is carefully loaded with the use of a flexible tube which quickly blows and inflates resin into the damaged pipe. A resin pipe gets created inside the existing pipe. This is quite an easy repair compared to the traditional method, but it reduces the actual diameter of the pipe. This can impact the flow of sewage within the pipe.
- Pipe bursting– In this method, an entirely new pipe is inserted into the pipe that has got damaged. It fractures the older pipe and essentially takes its place.
Regardless of which method of trenchless sewer pipe replacement you opt for, you will find that it benefits you in a number of ways.
