Tempering Valves & How They Work

What are they used for?

The main purpose of a tempering valve is to ensure scalding does not occur if a child or person with a disability was to come into direct contact with water exceeding 50 degrees and burn themselves at a tap.

Valves in the off position will always be against the flow of water or need to be screwed in clockwise to close and counter clockwise to open.
